Christen Kwame has been many things over the course of his journey as a musician. It all started when he was almost too young to remember, making up songs and practising his singing while still a primary school nipper. Kwame refers to music as his therapy, he writes songs in truth and draws from past experiences. From 2009 onwards he spent time gigging on London’s band circuit, playing Barfly, Ronnie Scots and The Water Rats as singer for The Zemitones. In 2012 he was something of a house maestro, appearing on Superman Fiende’s exceptional track ‘Swan’ and collaborating with Danny Darko on the deep house scorcher ‘Walk With Me’. He’s also had plays by BBC Introducing and BBC 6Music. Now Kwame has reached a point where he wants to carve his own path as a solo artist. Since winning over four accolades for his debut music video ‘Amelia’, Kwame is back with ‘Heartache’. This will be his second single, with another 2 tracks to be released this year. Christen’s vision for his career is without bounds, his singular voice is certainly one to watch.
